I visited with Heidi Ganahl a few weeks ago at a political gathering. It had been many years since I had seen her. Heidi is now running to be a member of the Board of Regents of the University of Colorado. I remembered seeing a video of Heidi speaking about the art of the comeback, that is to say, bouncing back when life knocks you down.
Heidi spoke at a Colorado symposium titled Ideas Unbridled sponsored by the TedX Mile High program. The link was offered on a FaceBook posting by my friend, Laura Carno. Heidi offers a powerful inspiring life story. She is inspiring and passionate. Most of us can identify with some of her painful experiences and will be motivated to achieve successes similar to her own.
Two of the foundational principles in Heidi’s art of the comeback are “you come back by giving back” and “you channel pain into helping others.”
I urge you to watch the video and take notes. Rarely have I heard such humility infused with fortitude, tenacity and honor.
